The World's Smallest Jigsaw Puzzle, Maybe

Image via Vat19.com

Front runner for the world's smallest jigsaw puzzle in the 236 piece, die-cut, 4x6" category is the aptly named The World's Smallest Jigsaw Puzzle.

Piece density comes out to 9.83 pieces per square inch, almost double that of TOMAX's 1000 piece miniature puzzles, which clocks in at 5.22. So, it makes sense that each box comes equipped with a pair of tweezers.

And how much smaller can a puzzle get? Apparently a lot.

Fun, but Worth the Price?
One Christmas, my aunt gave everyone in our family a TOMAX minature puzzle as a stocking-stuffer. As a puzzler, it was lucky for me that many of my relatives let me have their puzzles. I found the puzzles to be fun, but a bit gimmicky. The tweezers were extra kitsch, and actually took more time trying to handle the mini-pieces than just doing things by hand. I'd recommend the puzzles as a stocking-stuffer, especially for someone who wouldn't expect it. The puzzles are a whimsical and unique oddity, but I'm not sure I'd buy one for myself over a 1,000 piece conventionally-sized puzzle for the same price. The mini-puzzles are fun with pleasant and colorful pictures. The puzzles don't take very long to assemble, but it can give you something to talk about with fellow puzzlers and relatives alike.
