Puzzle-a-Month Clubs

Nowadays, you'll be hard-pressed to find an item that doesn't have a monthly club devoted to it, and jigsaw puzzles are no exception. Though options are a bit more limited than, say, monthly wine or sock subscriptions, puzzle-a-month clubs certainly do exist.

And with the holidays just around the corner, it's a great time to talk about them.

Option 1
Artifact Puzzles offers 5 different subscription options for their wooden puzzles. Options range from $250 for 4 puzzles to $580 for 9. It may cost a pretty penny, but in return, you'll end up with some equally pretty pictures (see above). The largest puzzle has 619 pieces while the smallest has 30.

Option 2
For an even prettier penny, Liberty Puzzles is another wooden puzzle shop offering 2 options: 6 months for $600 or 12 months for $1,100. Participants have a choice of receiving a surprise puzzle or one from a specific category. The site doesn't have an option to sort by number of pieces, but it looks like most fall in the range of 300-600 pieces and max out at 825.

Option 3
The most budget-friendly options are available at White Mountain Puzzles. Options range from $75 to $165, also across 6 or 12 months, with various combinations of 300pc, 500pc, and 1000pc puzzles. In true WMP-kase style, each month's puzzle is a surprise that WMP assures will appeal to a general audience.

Personally, I haven't worked on any puzzles from the companies above, so I'm unable to comment on the quality. But when it comes to wooden puzzles, I'd imagine the higher price point comes with higher quality. I'll need to test out this hypothesis one day.
